Are you ready for these Makeup Artist Headshots? Because ay yi yi!!! Did she ever kill it!!
When Shyla reached out to me about taking some photos together, I knew it was going to be a great shoot. She has a phenomenal sense of style, and her makeup and hair skills are top-notch. I mean, just take one look at her hair. She’s your go-to girl for long, luscious locks!!
We chatted about the vibe for this session and decided to go for modern and personable. The look was editorial, but playful. We went for a denim on demin look, which is a popular vibe these days! Check out a recent maternity session I did with the same type of look! This 90s throwback style is stealing my photographer heart!! I love how it looks in the studio setting in particular. Yes, please, more of this!!
Shyla did her own hair and makeup (obviously 😉 and it looked amazing. I loved the neutral palette with a soft winged eyeliner, with peachy lips. This look would be perfect to say for your upcoming boudoir session. Or for any bride that wants a more natural look. Consider this your invitation to pin these images to your inspo boards!
We styled her session against the black backdrop for that special POP that works so well for makeup artist headshots. It really lets the artist’s work steal the show, and that’s what we were going for her. We opted for no shoes to keep the look personable and laid back. After a while shooting with the matching dark denim, Shyla switched out her top of a lighter denim shacket with some movement to it. We got some fun blurry images to spice up the portfolio a bit! Those are always fun to add dimension and texture to your website and social media!
We ended the session sitting on the floor of the studio with an elevated, approachable vibe to her photos. I loved everything about this day with Shyla and was so excited to deliver a gallery I know represents her well as she grows her own business.
